SE Set to Host Battle of the Storms Saturday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern returns home looking to maintain its momentum from a shutout victory last weekend when it hosts Southern Nazarene at 2 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Paul Laird Field.
 
Southeastern fans can listen live via the Southeastern Sports Network on GoSoutheastern.com/SESportsNet or across the largest DII radio network in the area with Jay Lindly and Rob Johnson on the call. Local fans can pick up the game on 96.1 FM, while fans across southeastern Oklahoma and north Texas can pick up the games on 94.7 FM in Valliant, Okla., 97.7 in Ardmore, Okla., 99.5 in Rattan, Okla., 102.1 in Atoka, Okla., and 107.5 in Atoka.
 
The Savage Storm return home with a 3-3 record following a 27-0 road win over Arkansas-Monticello that saw the defense force three turnovers while the rushing attack compiled a season-best 265 yards on the ground.
 
SNU enters the weekend at 0-6 on the season following a 48-21 home loss to Henderson State a week ago.
 
Southeastern's defense continued to lead the way last time out, holding UAM to 242 total yards while pitching the first shutout for the Savage Storm since the 2018 season, and the first road shutout since 2017.
 
The Savage Storm defense forced a trio of turnovers, with Michael Hookfin snagging his fourth interception of the year while Bryant Watts punctuated the victory with an 85-yard pick-six on the game's final play to give SE its third defensive touchdown of the season.
 
Braeden Winters leads the defense, averaging nearly 10 tackles per game with six tackles for loss, while Tyveon Williams and William Wallis each have more than 30 stops on the year.
 
The offense has picked up the pace in the rushing attack on the season, putting up more than 200 yards on the ground for the second time this season last week, and is led by DJ Brown who is putting up 415 yards and averaging 4.4 ypc over six games this season, while Jonathan Cobb scored twice on the ground a week ago and has a team-best three touchdowns.
 
Luek Hohenberger has settled back into the starting quarterback role and has three touchdowns and 401 yards in two-and-a-half games on the field while adding 87 yards and two touchdowns rushing.
 
Kobe Jennings has been the top receiving target this season with 272 yards on 17 catches with a pair of touchdowns.
 
Gabe Corona and Victor Taylor each have more than 200 yards receiving, with Taylor hauling in a pair of scores himself.
 
SNU comes into the matchup averaging 12.0 ppg on offense with a passing game that is putting up 116.7 yards per outing while adding 115.5 yards per game rushing.
 
Bryson Evans leads the Crimson Storm on the ground with 173 yards and three touchdowns, while throwing for a pair of scores while completing 36.6 percent of his passes for 419 yards.
 
Kaden Barron is adding 157 yards on the ground with a score, while Kolbe Branch, Braxton Burd, and Donavaughn have each picked up 100 yards receiving on the season.
