HAYS, Kan. – Southeastern's men's team turned in a third-place finish while the women qualified five competitors back to the finals at the Fort Hays State Rodeo that wrapped up over the weekend.

Braden Tyrer led the way for the start in the bareback riding, posting a first-round ride of 72 to finish third in the round before adding an 81 in the finals, winning that round and finishing runner-up in the event in the average. Tyrer currently ranks fourth in the region in the bareback.

Montana Duvall joined him in the finals after turning in a 60 on his first ride before coming back with a 76 in the finals to finish fifth in the round and fifth in the average.

Caleb Meeks made his way to the finals in the saddle bronc riding after placing third itn he first round on a rid of 77 points before coming back in the finals with a mark of 80 which was good for second in the round and lifted him to second in the average. He has already ranked himself well enough to qualify for the CNFR and is only 90 points out of a regional championship.

Houston Stephens and KW Adair made the finals in the team roping with a first-round time of 7.9 which was good for seventh in the long-go, but took a five-second penalty for catching one leg, turning in a 13.7 to finish fifth in the round and in the average.

Levi James and his partner Garret Hughes from Murray State are currently fourth in the regional standings in the team roping, 50 points behind third place.

Ry Clark made his way to the finals in the steer wrestling after turning in a 5.7 in the first round to place eighth. He would follow up with a 5.1 in the finals, splitting 2
nd/3
rd in the round and finishing third in the average. He moved himself up to fifth in the regional standings.

Jarvis Demery is currently sitting seventh int rh Central Plains Region standings in the tie down roping, but the competition is tight as third-through-ninth place are separated by 60 points total.

On the women's side,
Kayla Earnhardt turned in matching runs of 18.14 in the barrel racing but would end the weekend ninth in the average.

Jillian Presley,
Grace Collins, and
Hannah Giger each made the final in the goat tying. Earnhardt finished third in the first round with a mark of 8.4 while Collins hit 8.9 and split 5
th/6
th, but both would take no times in the finals.

Presley advanced with an 8.9 of her own while Giger clocked a 9,3, but they would follow up with runs of 11.5 and 12.1, respectively, falling out of the average.

In the breakaway, as many as the top-15 in the region could still make it into the top three regionally, with that group including
Baylee Lester in sixth, Giger in 10
th, and
Katlyn Hooper in 13
th.

The final event of the regular season is set for April 25-27 in Guymon, Okla., hosted by Oklahoma Panhandle State.
