DENTON, Texas – Southeastern set a pair of school records and combined for 30 top-10 finishes over the weekend at the 2024 Mean Green Invitational.

SE opened the event with the 5,000-meter run which saw
Sarah Coblentz finishing in the top-five with a season-best 20:18.32, while
Yazmin Reyes crossed just behind her in 20:49.39 to finish seventh.

In the 800m, freshman
Ashlynn Pitts was the best finisher for the Storm, crossing the line in 2:29.57 to finish fourth.
Arden Kesterson was next with a run of 2:29.73 to finish fifth, while
Ashlyn Vasquez clocked a 2:33.19 to finish seventh.
Â
The 100m dash saw the fastest times recorded in program history as freshman
Caylee Conley clocked 12.22 to finish 17th, with
Karissa Nixon right behind in 12.23 for 18th, and
Jayda Williams's time of 12.32 rounded out the top 20 times in the event.

The 3000m steeplechase was paced by
Alexis Longoria who crossed the line in 12:42.86 to finish second while
Arden Kesterson finished third with a time of 13.06.74.

Genevi Martinez posted SE's top finish in the 1,500m, breaking the tape in 5:26.71 to finish fourth overall in the event. Vasquez and Aereonna Cardenas finished fifth and sixth respectively.

SE's 4x100m team once again set a school record as Williams, Nixon, Conley and
Kendal Fellegy crossed the line in 47.63 to finish third overall in the event.

In the 400m event,
Makensi Greenwood was the top finisher clocking a time of 58.32 to finish sixth, while
Madison Rowe was 10th overall in a time of 59.21.

Just an hour after running the second fastest 400m time of her career, Greenwood returned to the track in the 400m Hurdles event to clock 1:03.68, finishing second in the event. Longoria, competing in the event for the first time, clocked a time of 1:11.17 to finish eighth overall in the event.

In the women's 200m event, freshman Conley was again in fine form as she became the first to dip below the 25 second barrier, winning her heat in a time of 24.95 to finish 11th overall in the event. Nixon was next in line, clocking a 25.35 to finish 15th overall, with
Charisma Lacy-Ray winning her heat in 25.69 and finishing 21st overall.

The 4x400m relay saw SE's quartet of Greenwood, Rowe, Fellegy,
Caylee Conley hold on to finish second overall in the event with a time of 3:57.71, the third Fastest Time in program history.

The women's Hammer throw saw Makayla Needham hurl the implement 49.17m (161'4") to finish third overall in the event extending her school record in the event.
Samantha Wallis improved her best mark in the event by 20 feet with a toss of 45.85m (150'5"). Keitain Bell was next in with a personal best toss of 39.56m (129'9").

In the Shot Put, Needham was again the best finisher on the day tossing 13.95m to finish fifth overall and Wallis checked in eighth with a season-best toss of 12.42m.

In the Javelin, Wallis and Kathryn Newsom were the two best finishers placing fourth and fifth respectively, while
Emma Berry was the best finisher for the Storm in the Discus with a toss of 33.96m.

The long Jump event saw Freshman Kenzli Warden recording the longest jump in program history, leaping 5.46m to finish 10th overall in the event. Williams was next best finishing in 11th place with 5.29m while Jayda Johnson finished 12th with a leap of 4.87m.

In the triple Jump event, Johnson and Williams finished 6th and 7
th, leaping 11.58m and 11.50m, respectively.
