SE Posts Eight Top-10 Finishes at Louisiana Classic

LAFAYETTE, La. – Southeastern posted eight top-10 finishes, led by a trio of top-10 finishers in the 800 meter as the Savage Storm competed in the Louisiana Classic which wrapped up on Saturday evening in Lafayette, La.
 
Ashlen Clem led the way in the 800 with a time of 2:18.55 which was good for fifth in the event.
 
Ashlynn Barrett followed with a 2:25.05 to finish eighth, just edging out teammate Anahi Machuca who clocked a 2:25.63 to finish ninth.
 
The rarely-run 4x800 meter relay saw the foursome of Barrett, Machuca, Andrea Lope, and Clem post a third-place finish with a time of 9:43.08.
 
The Storm posted two more fifth-place finishes in relays, first putting up a 47.55 in the 4x100 meter on the speed of Ja'Marriah Powell, Taniya Burke, Camaella Achuo, and Latiana Gipson.
 
SE added its other fifth-place run in the 4x400 meter relay as the squad of Madison Rowe, Uryaha Brown, Naiomi Rochelle, and A'Daria Slay put together a time of 3:52.47.
 
Rochelle turned in a fourth-place finish in the high jump as she cleared 1.62 meters.
 
Rowe rounded out the top-10 finishes with a 10^th place finish in the 800 meters with a run of 57.77
