DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's track and field heads into the 2026 outdoor season picked to finish sixth according to the Great American Conference Preseason Poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Savage Storm garnered 41 points in the poll which ranks the league's 10 women's track and field teams.

The 41 points is just one point out of fifth place held by Northwestern Oklahoma State, with both sitting behind fourth-place Southern Arkansas.

Oklahoma Baptist is the preseason favorite by one point by picking up six first place votes, with Harding second just a point back with four first place votes, followed by Ouachita Baptist in third.

Southern Nazarene checks in seventh behind SE, followed by Arkansas Tech, Southwester Oklahoma State, and East Central to round out the poll.

The sixth-place preseason selection matches the sixth-place finish posted a season ago by SE at the GAC Outdoor Championships in Shawnee, Okla.

Southeastern returns five athletes who earned individual All-GAC honors at last season's championships,

That group is led by
Madison Rowe who finished second in the 400 meter hurdles and seventh in the 400 meters.

She is joined by
Katlen Clem who was eighth in the 800 meters, while
Emma Berry was sixth in the discus and
Kaitlyn Ervin was fifth in the hammer.

The 2026 GAC Track and Field Championships will be held in Searcy, Ark., April 29 through May 1.
