SE Football Set for Road Opener Versus Reddies

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern is set to make its first road trip of the season when it travels to Arkadelphia, Ark., to square off with No. 19/24 Henderson State on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m.
 
Southeastern fans can listen live via the Southeastern Sports Network on GoSoutheastern.com/SESportsNet or across the largest DII radio network in the area with Jay Lindly and Rob Johnson on the call. Local fans can pick up the game on 96.1 FM, while fans across southeastern Oklahoma and north Texas can pick up the games on 94.7 FM in Valliant, Okla., 97.7 in Ardmore, Okla., 99.5 in Rattan, Okla., 102.1 in Atoka, Okla., and 107.5 in Atoka.
 
The Savage Storm head into the contest with an 0-1 record following a narrow, 36-31, season-opening loss to Southern Arkansas on Sept. 5 at Paul Laird Field.
 
SE saw a pair of quarterbacks take snaps in that contest, eld by Luke Hohenberger's 168 yards on a 7-of-14 passing effort with two passing scores and a rushing touchdown.  Cergio Perez followed with a 10-of-19 effort for 100 yards.
 
Hohenberger and Ryan Hirt each rushed for touchdowns, while DJ Brown racked up a team-best 80 yards on the ground.
 
Kobe Jennings and Victor Taylor each hauled in touchdown catches, while Jennings and Nunez led the team with four receptions apiece, while Jennings' 78 yards was a team-best mark.
 
Defensively, Tyveon Williams recorded a league-best 13 tackles in the opening weekend, while Braeden Winters added nine tackles with three tackles for loss.
 
Michael Hookfin would snag the team's first interception of the season.
 
HSU comes into the contest following a 41-17 win over East Central, led by running back Frederick O'Donald who had 141 yards and three scores on 16 carries.
 
Andrew Edwardd threw for a pair of touchdowns and 224 yards on 14-of-24 passing, with Timieone Jackson pulling in a team-best six receptions, while Cayden Davis had 99 yards and a touchdown.
 
Kolbi Crawford led the defense with seven tackles while Bryant Hammond, Tim Jennings, and Cameron Thomas each logged an interception.
