DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern track and field is poised to return to indoor action when it travels to Norman, Okla., on Friday, Jan. 17, for the Owen Hewett Invitational hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility.

Running and field events begin at 10 a.m. and will continue into the evening.

The Savage Storm is coming off a season-opening performance on Dec. 7 at the Washburn Alumni invitational that saw six new school record established.

Madison Rowe would record new high marks in the 400 meter and the 200 meter, while
Jayda Williams posted a school record time in the 60 meter hurdles.

Je'Mela Harris added a school best in the 60 meter, while
Tailyn Higginbotham turned in a record time in the 600 yard.

In the field events,
Kailyn Freeman established a school record in the pole vault.

Rowe and
Ashton Carter each have top-25 times in the 200m meter among runners in the Central region, while Rowe is also top-25 in the 400 meter.

SE's 4x400 meter relay team of Williams, Rowe, Higginbotham, and La'Najah Ticey are ranked 12
th in the region.

Ashlynn Barrett and
Ashlynn Pitts are both top-20 in the 800 meters, while
Samantha Wallis heads into the second meet in ranked in the top-25 in the weight throw.
