Storm Set To Square off With OBU on Saturday Night

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern sets out looking to even up its season record when it makes the trip to Shawnee, Okla., to take on in-state foe Oklahoma Baptist at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25.
 
Southeastern fans can listen live via the Southeastern Sports Network on GoSoutheastern.com/SESportsNet or across the largest DII radio network in the area with Jay Lindly and Rob Johnson on the call. Local fans can pick up the game on 96.1 FM, while fans across southeastern Oklahoma and north Texas can pick up the games on 94.7 FM in Valliant, Okla., 97.7 in Ardmore, Okla., 99.5 in Rattan, Okla., 102.1 in Atoka, Okla., and 107.5 in Atoka.
 
The Savage Storm got back in the win column with a dominant 56-14 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State last time out and is looking to secure consecutive wins and to bring its record 3-5 season record to .500.
 
The Bison some to town with a 2-5 record on the year and coming off an overtime loss to East Central in Ada, Okla., last time out. Both of OBU's wins as well as its loss to ECU were decided by eight points or less.
 
Saturday's contest will be the 29th matchup between the programs, making it the fourth-most played rivalry among the Oklahoma schools in the GAC and the eight most played among SE's current opponents.
 
Despite the rarity of the rivalry it dates as one of the oldest with the first meeting coming in 1911, a 6-6 tie. The teams met regularly in the 1920's and 30's before the series came to an end in 1940 before being renewed in 2015 as OBU joined the GAC. The teams have been even since the renewal with SE holding a slight 5-4 edge over the nine matchups.
 
Southeastern enters the weekend putting up 385.0 yards per game of total offense, with 209 of that coming on the ground.
 
Levay Duncan has powered that rushing attack on the season from his quarterback position, picking up 499 yards and four touchdowns on 86 carries, including a three-touchdown effort a week ago in a win.
 
Donovan Shannon is next in line with 309 yards and a pair of scores on the ground.
 
Duncan has added 687 yards and six touchdowns through the air, while the duo of Colton Howard and Luke Hohenberger have tallied 529 yards and five touchdowns combined across their appearances.
 
Regardless of who is throwing the ball, Kobe Jennings has led the receiving corps with 15 catches for 327 yards and three touchdowns.
 
The Storm defense has been one of the most disruptive units in the GAC and is tied for the league-lead in interceptions with 10 and has forced seven fumbles and recorded 38 tackles for loss.
 
William Wallis leads the defense with 41 tackles on the season, including five for a loss, while Andrew Grissom is next in line with 39 with 3.5 tackles for loss, an interception and a forced fumble.
 
De'Angelo Shanks has a team-high three sacks, with Kamron Fields pulling down three interceptions.
 
OBU enters the contest putting up 18.4 ppg on offense while averaging 385.3 yards per game of total offense, with most of that coming through the air to the tune of 268.0 yards per game of passing.
 
TK McMahaon leads the Bison offense with 1,007 yards through the air while completing 57.5 percent of his passes for three touchdowns while tossing seven picks.
 
Chad Mascoe has added 831 yards with five touchdowns to three interceptions.
 
OBU has added 117.3 ypg on the ground, with Deuce Wise leading the rushing attack with 469 yards and four TD's on the season.
 
Nick Harris has been the team's top target at receiver with 32 catches for 568 yards and four touchdowns.
 
Colt Humphrey leads the defense with 50 tackles, while Chase Whitebear has 44 stops.
