Youngblood-Blanton Steps Down as SE Golf Coach

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern men's and women's golf coach Sydney Youngblood-Blanton has stepped down from the position in order to pursue other opportunities.

A national search for Southeastern's next men's and women's golf coach will begin immediately.

"I wish Sydney the best going forward," said Director of Athletics Keith Baxter, "And we're very appreciative of the work she has put in and the success the golf program has had over the past four years. She was instrumental in starting the women's golf program here and laying the groundwork for its success."

"I have greatly appreciated my time working at Southeastern," said Youngblood-Blanton, "And all the friends and memories I am walking away with. I can't thank Keith Baxter, Cherrie Wilmoth and President Newsom enough for hiring me in the first place and to be trusted to run the men's team but to also be apart of history with the development of the women's program. Thanks for everything and Go Storm!"

Over her four seasons at the helm of the men's team her squad posted eight top-five team finishes as well as a pair of individual event titles coupled with 16 individual top five finishes and 24 individual top 10's.

In the first two seasons guiding the brand new women's program her team's posted three top five individual finishes and five top-10 outings.
