DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern returns to the friendly confines of Paul Laird Field at Spend Life Wisely Stadium to square off with its first in-state opponent as it hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.

The Savage Storm return home off a 41-21 road loss to Ouachita Baptist but return to Spend Life Wisely Stadium where they opened the season with a 44-13 win over Arkansas-Monticello.

Saturday's matchup with the Bulldogs will renew the team's second-longest rivalry as SE has squared off against SWOSU 92 times previously, with the Storm holding a 51-38-3 edge in the all-time record, including a 30-15 win last season which pushed its current winning streak in the series to four games.

The rivalry trails only SE-ECU's 107 meetings in number of games played and Saturday will mark the 79
th consecutive contest between the schools on the gridiron.

Southeastern comes into its third game of the year averaging 32.5 ppg and posting 381.5 yards per game of total offense.

The majority of that work has come on the ground as the Storm average 195.5 yards per game rushing, led by
DJ Brown's 105 yards and two touchdowns rushing.

Levay Duncan has added 99 yards on the ground and a touchdown, while three other ball carriers have at least nine carries across two games.

Duncan stepped into the QB1 slot in week two and made his first collegiate start and has now thrown for 205 yards and three touchdowns over his two appearances.

Victor Taylor has been the top target with five catches for 120 yards, while
Matthew Nunez has four for 69 yards. Both have a receiving score.

Kobe Jennings and Jex Sternberger each have receiving TDs as well, with Jenning hauling in a 46-yard toss and Sternberger taking one 77 yards to the house.

Defensively,
Andrew Grissom led the way in tackles for the second-straight week, bringing his season total to 17.

William Wallis upped his number of stops to 12 on the year while
Braeden Winters has nine.

The Storm defense has been stout against the run, allowing just 97.0 yards per game on the ground.

SWOSU opened the year with matchups against Harding and Arkansas Tech and come into week three 0-2 on the season and averaging 5.0 ppg on offense while allowing 43.5 ppg on the defensive side of the ball.

MJ Rivers leads the way for the Bulldogs with 149 yards on 26-of-39 passing, while Red Martel has a team-best 120 yards rushing.

Kelton Moore leads the defense with 12 tackles, while Felipe Tristan has logged 10 stops.
