DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opens a three-match home stand in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium with a back-to-back challenge of conference foes, first taking on conference-leading Arkansas Tech at 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 before turning around on Oct. 9 to host Harding at 7 p.m.
The Savage Storm enter the contest at 4-12 on the season and 2-3 in Great American Conference play, but return home where they have won three-straight contests, including knocking off previously unbeaten in league play Southwestern Oklahoma State.
SE enters the weekend looking to
Abby Jameson to continue to power the offense. In just 16 games into her college career she is ranked second in the league in kills at 3.75 kps and is also ranked in the top 20 in digs at 2.91 per set.
She is not alone powering the offense as
Julia Benford and
Arianna Baker have added 2.58 and 1.90 kps, respectively, and done so in an efficient manner with both players ranked in the GAC's top-10 in hitting percentage.
Alissa Benson has come on strong in league play, lifting her average to 9.18 assists per set which ranks her fifth in the conference, while also adding 2.00 dps and 24 total blocks.
Defensively,
Charlene Nerio is in the league's top 10 with 4.07 digs per set, while Jameson and Benson each add at least 2.00 per set.
Benford leads the defense at the net with 34 total blocks, while Baker is on her heels with 33 and three others have double-digit block numbers on the year.
ATU comes to town with an 11-5 record on the year and is 5-0 in league play and riding a five-match winning streak.
Offensively they are led by Hunter Eshnaur who averages 3.64 kps, while Sarita Stegall dishes out 9.27 assists per set.
On defense they rely on Madison Nagel's 5.18 dps on the back row and Katie Huff's 57 total blocks at the net.
HU comes into the weekend at 8-10 on the year overall and 3-2 in league play.
Molly Howard leads the offensive charge with 3.52 kps, while Abigail Glosup is dishing out 8.61 assists per set.
On defense Anna Leigh Cargile leads the back row with 3.94 dps, while Zoe Hardin's 87 total blocks leads the way at the net.
