DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will take to the road one last time before opening Great American Conference play when it faces some of its toughest competition yet at the GAC-MIAA Crossover hosted by Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Okla., Sept. 16-17.

The Savage Storm are coming off a 2-2 split in its second weekend and is sitting at 5-3 overall on the season heading into the weekend.

SE opens the weekend with a noon matchup on Friday against Missouri Western State, and closes day one with a 6 p.m. contest with Pittsburg State.
Â
Day two starts with an 11 a.m. meeting with Washburn followed by a 5 p.m. contest with Southwest Baptist.
Â
Offensively, the Storm is ranked in the top third of the conference in kills and assists, and leads the league in service aces at 1.55 per set as a team.

On defense SE is fourth in digs and fifth in opponent's hitting percentage.

Following her big weekend in Wichita Falls, Texas,
Karine Cavalcante joins
Abby Jameson in the top 10 in the league in kills, as she sits in eighth with 3.17 per set while Jameson is right behind in ninth at 3.16. Both are also ranked in the top 10 in points, while Cavalcante is tied for the league lead in service aces with 0.50 per set.

Alissa Benson is still ranked third in the GAC in assists with 10.74 per set.

Caitlin Cosby is second in the conference in digs at 5.34 per set, and is the only player to have played both weekend of the season to be averaging over five kills per set.

MWSU comes into the event at 4-4 on the season after going 2-2 in each of the first two weekend, with a pair of those wins coming over GAC opponents.

The Griffons are led by Rachel Friedrichs who is averaging 2.90 kps to lead a group of four averaging better than two kills per set.

PSU heads into the weekend on an eight-game losing streak to open the year, including losses to Ouachita Baptist, Arkansas Tech and Henderson State last weekend.

Peyton Walker leads the Gorillas with 2.89 kills per set.

Washburn heads to Shawnee with a 6-2 record on the season after a 2-2 mark in its trip to Florida a week ago.

Leanna Willer paces the offense to the tune of 3.04 kills per set for the Ichabods.

SBU heads into the event at 2-6 on the season after a 1-3 weekend which included a loss to Harding.
