BENTONVILLE, Ark. – No. 41 Southeastern advanced to the Great American Conference finals after downing Henderson State 5-1 on Friday afternoon in Bentonville, Ark.

The win lifts the Savage Storm record to 17-2 on the season overall and extends the team's current winning streak to 12 matches.

SE will now wait out the results of the other semifinal before facing off in the championship at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Southeastern took a 1-0 lead in doubles play when
Maria Martinez and
Luisa Auffarth pulled off an 8-1 win at the three position, but HSU responded with a win at number one to even the score at 1-1.

The Storm secured the doubles advantage with an 8-3 win by
Anna Buiukian and
Samantha Coquinos at the number two spot to head into singles with a 2-1 lead.

That was as close as it would get as SE started stretching its advantage with a 6-1, 6-0 win by Martinez over HSU's Mariah Bartlett in the five position for a 3-1 lead.

That quickly moved to 4-1 as Auffarth added another win with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at the number six spot over Lauren Miller.

Alexsandra Reljic would close out the 5-1 Southeastern victory by cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 win at the number one spot over Annie Shannon to clinch the contest.
