CONWAY, Ark. –
A'Mya Powell and
Bailee Bruce each posted a pair of top-10 finishes and Southeastern collected eight as a team at the UCA Spring Opener in Conway, Ark.
Powell competed in three events for SE on the day, with a 13.20 run in the 100 meter which was good for 7
th proving to be her best outing and the best 100 meter mark for SE this season.
She also added a 10
th place finish in the 200 meter with another SE season best run of 27.63, while running the 400 meter for the first time and posting a 1:03.48 which is the second-best SE time this season.
Bruce posted a ninth-place finish in the high jump with a 1.32 meters leap, and turned in the Storm's first and best javelin throw of the year with a mark of 26.26 meters which was good for eighth.
Southeastern had a pair of top-1-0 finishes in the 1,500 meter run, with
Skye Summers clocking a 5:17.31, while
Megan Rose followed with a time of 5:29.32 which was good for 10
th, while
Regan Ramos was just outside the top-10 in 11
th with a time of 5:30.16 in her first 1,500 meter run of the season.
Southeastern fielded a pair of 4x800 meter relay teams which finished second and third, respectively. The second-place team of Summers, Rose, Ramos, and Rebekah CHristman posted a time of 10:35.65, while the third-place group of Sarah Murphy, Alex Vaile,
Adrian Tucker, and
Letizia Hernandez crossed in 12:00.93.
Southeastern will be back in action March 14 in Shawnee, Okla., with the OBU Early Outdoor Invitational.
