SE Solid in Final Tune-Up Before GAC Meet

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In its final regular-season meet of the inaugural season, Southeastern track and field posted 13 top-10 finishes, four new school records and a bevy of personal bests at the Little Rock Open in Little Rock, Ark.
 
SE posted a top-10 finisher in each of the field events it competed in, led by fourth place finishes by Bailee Bruce in the long jump and Sarah Murphy in the high jump.
 
Bruce's jump of 1.40 meters in the high jump was a school best, while Murphy's leap of 4.00 meters was the first recorded finish for SE in the event.
 
Bruce would go on to add a pair of sixth place finishes as well, one with a throw of 24.67 meters in the discus and another with a school-record toss of 27.33 meters in the javelin.
 
Danielle Doggett and Sarah Murphy each added top-10 finishes in the javelin as well with throws of 26.26 meters and 21.90 meters, respectively.
 
On the track, A'Mya Powell turned in a school-record 13.15 in the 100 meter to finish eighth, while adding a 10^th place finish in the 200 meter with a 1:03.00.
 
Rebekah Christman led a large group of runners in the 800 meter, posting a school-best 2:26.67 to finish fifth, while Regan Ramos turned in a personal-best with a time of 2:37.49 to finish 10^th.
 
MaKaylah Britton set a new SE mark in the 100 meter hurdles with a run of 15.66 which was good for fifth.
 
Skye Summers and Ramos each posted top-10 finishes in the 1,500 meter run, with Summers clocking a time of 5:04.85 which was enough for seventh while Ramos turned in another personal best with a run of 5:16.05 to finish ninth.
 
The team returns to the track April 18-20 in Shawnee, Okla., for the Great American Conference Championship Meet.
