DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball will make its 2019 home debut when it returns to the friendly confines of Bloomer Sullivan Arena to host the Southeastern Classic Sept. 13-14 in Durant, Okla.

The Savage Storm will open play in its own event at 11 a.m. on Sept. 13 against in-state rival Cameron before finishing Friday action with a 3 p.m. contest against Colorado State-Pueblo.

SE will come back for a 9 a.m. match on Saturday Sept. 14 against Texas-Tyler and then close out the event with a 1 p.m. matchup against Union (Tenn.).

Despite the 0-4 start to the season the Storm spread their offense around as four different hitters collected at least 30 kills over the opening weekend, led by 35 each from
Malaysia Burns and
Taylor Robinson.

Hannah Grant added 34 over four matches, while
Aleksandra Rodic turned in 30.

Arabella Bouchard and
Jodi Dixon split the setting duties, with Bouchard handing out 17 per match while Dixon posted 13.5 per match.

Caitlin Cosby picked up where she left off in 2018 defensively, posting 80 digs over four matches with a high mark of 34 versus Fort Lewis. Rodic was next in line with 50 total over the opening weekend.

SE opens the classic against former conference and in-state rival Cameron who opened its 2019 season with a 1-3 trip to Missouri Southern State.

The Aggies are led offensively by Walia Franklin and Arianna Navarette who each finished the weekend with 30 or more kills, while Peyton Little picked up 55 total digs and Riana Blount chipped in 11 blocks on defense.

CSU-Pueblo enters the weekend with an 0-4 record incurred at the same tournament as CU at Missouri Southern State.

Sarah Vang and Brooke Schilling each posted better than 30 kills, while on defense Kyle Meltzer collected 57 total digs with Diamond'Nique Young and Jazzy Espinoza each posting 11 blocks.

SE opens day two against UT-T who is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the Reddie-Tiger Invitational in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Kaitlyn Budisalovich and Kylee Becker each posted over 30 kills on the opening weekend, with Savannah Guzman leading the defense with 41 digs and Hattie Murray turning in 12 blocks.

The Storm close out the weekend with Union who opened the season 3-1 in Memphis, Tenn.

The Bulldogs were led by Meghan Delaney who put up 53 kills over three matches, while Delaney and Abbie Rahn each collected 30 digs.
