DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern continued its strong spring effort with five men and three women earning berths in the finals at the Garden City CC Rodeo in Garden City, Kan.

The men's squad was paced by
Dylan Riggins who opened his performance in the bareback competition with an opening round 73 to finish fourth in the round. He would come back and improve on that in the short-go with a 77 which was good for seconds in the round and splitting 2
nd/3
rd in the average.

The run on the weekend moves Riggins into fourth in the Central Plains Region in the bareback.

SE's run in the rough stock continued as
Rowdy Chesser put together a 70 point ride in the first round of the saddle bronc riding, finishing seventh in the round. He would put together slightly improved run in the finals with a 71 which split 4
th/5
th/6
th in the shot-go and moved him to 5
th/6
th in the average for the event.
His finish lifted him to 15
th in the region in saddle bronc riding.

In the bull riding, a pair of SE riders earned a trip to the final round, with
Wyatt Rogers turning in a ride of 67
th to finish eighth in the round, while
Hayden Harris followed with a 63 in his first ride to finish ninth in the long go.

Rogers bounced back with a ride of 76 in the finals which split 2
nd/3
rd in the round and moving him into third place in the average for the weekend.

Harris had a tough draw in the finals and took a no score, and currently ranks eighth in the region.
Â
Mason Ward and
Kolton White did not reach the finals, but are still well ranked regionally, with Ward sitting third and White in fifth.

In the steer wrestling,
Holden Myers turned in a time of 6.5 in the opening round which was good for fourth and a trip to the finals.

Unfortunately, he would take a no time in the finals, but ended up fourth in the average for the weekend and is holding onto fifth place regionally, while
Gus Franzen is right behind in sixth place.

Katelyn Hobbie continued her run in the barrel racing over the weekend, clocking a 16.64 in her first run to finish first in the long go. She followed that up with a 16.38 in the finals which was good for second in the round, and lifted her to the top spot in the average.

Her finish on the weekend gives her the top spot in the Central Plains Region among barrel racers.

In the goat tying,
Bailey Witt turned in a run of 8.4 seconds which was good for second place in the round. She followed up with 9.8 in the finals which helped her to a fourth-place finish in the average.

Cara Hilzendeger nearly matched Witt in the first round, finishing with a run of 8.6 to place fourth, but suffered a no time in the finals, sliding her to 10
th overall for the weekend.

Witt's run helped her to hold fourth in the regional standings, while
Martie Shockley ranks ninth and
Cierra Doyal is 10
th.
SE has a trio of athletes who maintain regional rankings despite not making a final over the weekend, with
Rush Hodges ranked fifth in the tie down roping, while Myers is 15thg in the event.

Kaycee Hollingback ranks fourth in the breakaway roping in the Central Plains Region.
