HAYS, Kan. –
Laramie Warren picked up the Men's All-Around Championship while nine other competitors made finals appearances over the weekend at the Fort Hays State Rodeo in Hays, Kan.

Warren got off to a good start in the all-around competition as he turned in a 6.2 in the first go round of the steer wrestling, earning a third place finish in the round. He came back and stopped the clock with a 6.5 in the finals to finish fourth in the round and move up to second in the average for the weekend.

Warren then partnered with KW Adair in the team roping where they posted an 8.9 in the first round to take third and earn a berth in the finals. A second clean run of 9.2 in the finals was good for third in the short-go and kept them in third place in the average.

The performance moved Warren and Adair into 10
th place in the region standings following this rodeo.Â

Back in the steer wrestling,
Wyatt Rogers joined Warren in the finals after placing third in the first round following a run of 5.9. He came back with an 8.6 in the finals which was good for seventh in the round and his combined average time of 14.5 was good for a sixth-place finish for the weekend.

Holden Myers sits in 3rd place regionally among steer wrestlers, while
Gus Franzen is in 12th place regionally. Warren's efforts moved him into 15th place.

Bareback Riding became a two-head competition due to number of entries, meaning each rider would get two runs.
Dylan Riggins won the bareback riding in the first run through with a 76 point ride. He followed that performance up by splitting 1st/2nd in the second go round with a 71 point ride. Riggins combined average score of 171 won the competition for the weekend.

Riggins moved into second place in the Central Plains Region standings following his performance.

In the saddle bronc competition,
Rowdy Chesser carded a score of 63 in the first round, earning a finals berth after finishing ninth in the round. He was unable to make the whistle in the short-go, dropping out of the average competition.

In the barrel racing,
Peyton Glenn got off to a great start with a second-place run of 15.6 in the long-go. She stopped the clock with a 17.0 in the finals though, placing eighth in the round and coming in seventh place for the weekend in the average.

Katelyn Hobbie remains in third place in the regions standings in the barrel racing following this competition.

SE would return a pair of finals qualifiers in the goat tying, led by
Cara Hilzendeger who clocked a 7.2 in the opening round to finish third in the short-go, while
Cierra Doyal opened the first round with an 8.1 to split 9th/10th place.

Both would have rough outings in the finals, with Doyal turning in an 11.2 which dropped her from the average, while Hilzendeger's goat had difficulties getting up, taking her out of the average as well.

Hilzendeger remains in third place in the regional standings after the weekend, while
Martie Shockley hold fifth.
Bailey Witt is currently seventh, while Doyal moved to eighth place.

In the breakaway roping,
Kaycee Hollingback turned in a 3.2 to finish fourth in the first round. She followed up with a no time in the finals, falling out of the average for the weekend.

However, Hollingback does move into third place in the region standings following this rodeo.Â

Men finished second as a team at FHSU, while the women were eighth.
Â
The men and women are both sitting in fourth place regionally, with the men in a tight race for second place. The top two teams in men's and women's competition qualify to the CNFR as a team, while the top-3 individuals in each event qualify individually and who ever qualifies in the top three and make it become your team at the CNFR.

Southeastern will be back in the arena for its eighth competition of the season April 22-24 in Guymon, Okla., for the Oklahoma Panhandle State Rodeo.
