ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Four attackers reach double-digit kills as Southeastern snapped its losing skid and earned its first Great American Conference victory, 3-2, over Henderson State on Thursday night in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The win snaps a four-game skid and lifts the Savage Storm to its first conference win, improving to 1-7 in league play and 3-16 overall heading into a Friday afternoon matchup versus Ouachita Baptist at 4 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Ark.

D'Nari Mills led all attackers on the night with 17 kills, while
Michera Moffett added 14.
Jessica Hardin was next in line with 12 and
Avynn La Rose finished with 10.

Ruthie Forson led the setting duo with 27 assists while
McKenzie Turkoly was right behind with 23.

Patience Lewis led the defense along the back row with a team-high 23 digs, while Mills and
Amaya Constantino each chipped in 12 digs, with
Peyton Kriegel adding 11.

Moffett and La Rose led the defense at the net with two blocks apiece.

The Storm started off the first set even but saw the Reddies pull away late I a 25-13 loss in the opening set before using a pair of short runs in set two to take a lead, ultimately taking five of the final seven points to win the set 25-23 and even the match at 1-1.

Southeastern bounced back from a slow start in the third set, first using a 7-1 run to take an 11-8 lead before closing out the set on a 10-3 run which saw them pull away for the 25-18 win and a 2-1 lead in the match.

The Storm found itself playing catchup for much of the fourth set, but every time a rally would close the gap, HSU would have an answer including scoring the final four points to take the fourth set 25-19 which evened the score at 2-2.

The Reddies jumped out in front in the fifth set and led 8-4 when Southeastern put together four-straight kills to kick off a 10-1 run to take a 14-9 lead before a Mills kill would secure the Storm the 3-2 win with a 15-11 victory in the deciding set.
