DURANT, Okla. – On the heels of earning its first national ranking of the season, Southeastern women's tennis wrapped up a three-match stretch with a 2-1 record, including downing a Division I opponent.

The 2-1 midweek series record lifts the No. 22 ranked Savage Storm to 6-3 on the season heading into a three-match home stand March 13-14 at the Southeastern tennis Complex.

SE got off to a great start by knocking off DI Missouri State by a 4-1 score.

Georgia Hosking and
Skye Royall picked up a 6-1 win at number one doubles, while
Vanessa Cozamanis and
Sara Gonzalez added a 6-3 win at two doubles to lock up the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.

The Storm quickly saw the lead move to 2-0 with a retirement at the number six position, but the Bears would get a point back with a win at number four.

Royall would get the momentum moving back in the right direction with a 6-1, 6-3 win at number two for a 3-1 lead.
Â
Cozamanis would complete the victory with a win at number five by a 6-4, 7-6 margin.

SE would take on UT-Dallas the following day and would again pick up a win in the doubles point, this time with Cozamanis and Gonzalez earning a 6-3 win at number two, followed by a 6-3 win at the three positon by
Elizaveta Tregubova and
Chantal Lozano.

Cozamanis would push the lead to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 win at number five, with Royal picking up a 7-5, 6-0 win at number two just a few minutes later to make the advantage 3-0.

Vanessa Nitu would take the number one spot by a 7-5, 6-4 margin to secure the win.

Tregubova and Gonzalez would each tack on wins to fashion the final of 6-1.

SE closed out the three-match series with its lone loss in the stretch, coming at the hands of No. 2-ranked Central Oklahoma by a 7-0 score.

The Storm would force third sets at numbers four and five, but was unable to pull off a comeback after dropping the doubles point.
