DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern swept its way through a pair of midweek matches in style, starting with a 7-0 sweep of Arkansas-Fort Smith before downing No. 38 Midwestern State on Wednesday by a 4-3 final score at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

Â
"Two great days again for the women," said head coach
Brian Nelson, "Beating two good teams. We handled UAFSÂ rather easily Tuesday 7-0, setting up a big battle with Midwestern State today. We knew going into the match that it would be very tough. Against Midwestern all three doubles matches were very close, but we dropped the doubles going down 1-0. The women would not give up though, winning in straight sets at #1
Vanessa Nitu, #2
Skye Royall, #3
Chiara Matteodo, and at #6
Vanessa Cozamanis to clinch the match and put us ahead 4-1. The final two matches on court were great matches, with both
Elizaveta Tregubova and
Sara Gonzalez falling in third set matches. This is the first women's win over Midwestern State since 2009, and only the second time all time."
Â
SE jumped in front early in doubles play versus UAFS, with
