Goar Named SE Volleyball Assistant Coach

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern head volleyball coach Nicole Solum-Mitchell has announced the hiring of Taylor Goar as the team's assistant coach.
 
Goar becomes the program's first full-time assistant coach and transitions into that role after spending the previous three seasons with the program as a graduate assistant and a volunteer assistant.
 
"Having a full-time assistant position is instrumental in continuing to compete in this league," said Solum-Mitchell. "Taylor has shown tremendous growth in the 3 years that she has been with me at Southeastern and has created numerous connections within our recruiting area here. Her volleyball IQ and knowledge of the game is something that our kids thrive from. We are very lucky to have someone with her loyalty and passion for the game here at Southeastern, she makes us better!"
 
Goar joined the program in 2019 and has helped the program to back-to-back Great American Conference tournament in the spring and the fall of 2021.
 
Over that time, she has helped coach seven All-GAC performers and was instrumental in the team adapting to the 2020 postponement of the season due to Covid which was then played in an abbreviated fo0rm in the spring of 2021.
 
Goar made the move to Southeastern after finishing her playing career at Winona State where she finished her career with the Warriors ranked fifth all-time in kills (1,253), 11th all-time in digs (1,306), and 12th in service aces (112).
 
She was a two-time first team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference selection in 2015 and 2016 and earned second team honors in 2018. She also added a 2016 All-Central Region Tournament team honor and was a four-time NSIC All-Academic selection.
 
Goar completed a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice in Law Enforcement and completed her Masters of Science in Sports Administration with an emphasis in educational leadership.
