DURANT, Okla. – Two weeks into the inaugural indoor season for Southeastern's track and field program, Savage Storm athletes are already making waves as four competitors have already placed themselves in the top-25 in their individual events as listed by the USTFCCCA.

Sophomore
Makensi Greenwood, most recently set a new school record in the 800 meters on her way to earning a victory in the event at the JD Martin Invitational hosted by the University of Oklahoma. That run has earned her a No. 14 ranking among Division II runners.

In the women's 600 yards event, Sophomore
Kaitlyn Cedillo also broke a school record with a run of 1:32.71 at the Washburn Alumni Invitational, and is currently ranked 9th in the event.

Freshman Ashlyn Vasquez shaved almost five seconds off her personal best last weekend in the 600 yard event and is currently ranked 13th with her time of 1:36.88.

Senior Macayla Needham is Currently nationally ranked in two events after besting both her school records this past weekend.

In the shot put, Needham is currently ranked 6th in the event and has also achieved the provisional marks to qualify for the National Indoor Championships.

In the weight throw, Needham is currently ranked 18th with a throw of 16.89m, just 11 centimeters shy of the 17 meters needed to qualify for the national championships.

The team has entered its winter break and will return to indoor action on Jan. 19, 2024, with the Rumble in the Jungle in Pittsburg, Kan.
