DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis closed out the 2023 regular season in style by sweeping back-to-back Great American Conference contests, topping Harding 4-3 on Friday before ending the regular season with a 4-3 win over No. 46 Arkansas Tech.

The wins bring the Savage Storm to 6-12 overall on the year and 3-2 in Great American Conference play heading into the GAC Tournament set for April 20-22 in Bentonville, Ark.

SE opened the weekend with the Bisons and would have to play from behind after dropping the doubles point to open the match.

Sara Gonzalez would provide the first answer for the Storm, cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 win at number three singles over Lina Romero to even the match at 1-1.

Vanessa Nitu was right behind to give the Storm the lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Grace Dodd at the number one position.

HU would answer with wins at number five and six, but Chiara Mattedodo would respond almost immediately with a 6-3, 6-4 win at number four to tie the match at 3-3.

It was
Georgia Hosking who would rally at the number two position to a 1-6, 6-1, 6-0 win over Karli Roux to clinch the 4-3 victory.

SE found itself playing out of a 1-0 deficit again on Saturday against No. 46 ATU after falling in the doubles point.

This time it was the bottom of the lineup card to do the damage, beginning with number six spot and
Rhythm Aswal who picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Isabella Major to tie the match at 1-1.

Gonzalez would give the Storm a 2-1 lead with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Aastha Dargude at number four, but it was short lived as The Golden Suns picked up wins at numbers one and two to take a 3-2 lead.

Matteodo would even the match at 3-3 with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Madelina Amil Silva at number four.

That would set the stage for
Michelle Markovic who would close out the comeback win with a 6-2, 6-2 win at number five over Sofia Beggiatto to clinch the 4-3 match victory.
