BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern women's tennis goes back-to-back as it earns its second-straight Great American Conference Championship after topping No. 49 Arkansas Tech, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon in the finals of the conference tournament in Bentonville, Ark.

The GAC Tournament championship marks the program's fourth, winning back-to-back conference tournaments in 2022 and 2023, doing so for the second time after picking up tourney titles in 2016 and 2017. SE has also picked up a pair of regular season championships in 2015 and 2017.

This win lifts the Savage Storm to 9-12 overall on the season, including a 7-2 mark over its last nine matches.

ATU would take the first matchup in doubles action, winning at the number two position.

Chiara Matteodo and
Vanessa Nitu would respond at three doubles with a 7-5 win over Melanie Griffiths and Madelina Amil Silva, but ATU would take the tiebreaker at the number one double spot to win the point.

Matteodo would again strike back for the Storm in singles play, winning her match over Amil Silva at number four, 6-1, 6-2, to even the match at 1-1.

ATU would regain the lead with a win at number two singles, while the remaining four matches would all go three sets.

Nitu would be the first of those to pick up a win, downing ATU's Lea Grinberg 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 at number one to tie the match at 2-2.

The Golden Suns would regain the lead one final time with a win at six singles before
Michelle Markovic answered with a 6-0, 1-6, 6-4 win at number five to even the score at 3-3.

Sara Gonzalez would provide the clincher at number three when she gutted out a win over Aastha Dargude by a 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-4 score.
