DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's tennis came into Wednesday's matchup having locked up the one seed in the Great American Conference Tournament, but will have to settle for a shared regular season GAC Championship following a narrow 4-3 loss to Henderson State at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

Wednesday served as senior day for four Savage Storm seniors, with
Rhythm Aswal, Georgis Hosking,
Chiara Matteodo, and
Vanessa Nitu playing I their final home matches.

SE would jump ahead by taking the doubles point, with
Milana Voloshyn and
Amishi Shukla picking up a 6-3 win at number three followed by a 6-4 win at number two for
Jou Chen Chen and
Larissa Giraldi Correa.

Shukla would quickly pick up a 6-3, 6-3 win over Marianna Murcia at number five to push the lead to 2-0 and extend her singles record to 18-1.

HSU would get on the board with a win at number four singles and tie the match at 2-2 with a win at one singles.

Chen would regain the lead for the Storm with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-1 win at number six, but a win at number three would again knot the match at 3-3.

Hosking would fight for a 7-6 (4) win in the first set, but would fall 6-2, 6-3 over the next two sets at the two position and the Reddies would come away with the 4-3 win.

SE will face a pair of regional foes in Edmond, Okla., on April 20 and 21, first facing Washburn before squaring off with Nebraska-Kearney.
