Clem, Rowe Post New Records at Rumble in the Jungle

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Katlen Clem and Madison Rowe each posted new school record, while Southeastern had four top 10 finishes on its way to a 15^th place team finish at the Rumble in the Jungle hosted by Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kan.
 
In the running events, Clem and Rowe led the way with a pair of new school records.
 
Clem broke through with a new school record in the mile run after posting a time of 5:25.68 which was good for an 18^th place finish out of the 59 total runners.
 
Rowe followed with another new record of her own three events later when she turned in a time of 58.30 in the 400 meter, beating her own previous best mark by 0.47 seconds and finishing 15^th in the stacked event in Pittsburg, Kan.
 
The 4x400 meter relay foursome of Andria Williams, Kaitlyn Cedillo, Tailyn Higginbotham, and Rowe would post a top-10 finish, picking up two points for their eighth-place finish with a time of 4:04.87, the second-best 4x400 meter run for the Storm this season.
 
Tailyn Higginbotham posted a top-10 finish in the 600 yard, crossing in eighth to pick up a point for the team with a time of 1:29.97.
 
In the field events, Samantha Wallis got her day started with a top-10 finish in the weight throw, posting an eighth-place finish and scoring a team point with a toss of 15.33 meters, her second best of the season.
 
She would follow up with an even better finish in the shot put, turning in her second-best throw of the season, finishing 6^th place with a throw of 12.71 meters.
 
Mildred Medina posted SE's best high jump of the season, clearing 1.48 meters on her way to a 17^th-place finish.
