DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State improves to 4-0 on the year after picking up a win at home over Collin College 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
Southeastern took a 1-0 lead into the singles matches after sweeping the doubles point.
Amishi Shukla and
Milana Voloshyn were the first to finish, winning 6-4 at No. 3 and the partnership of
Jou Chen Chen and
Carol Mora followed at No. 1 with a 6-2 win to secure the doubles point.
Larissa Giraldi Correa and
Sara Gonzalez capped off the round with a 7-5 victory from the No. 2 position.
In the singles matches, Shukla quickly gave the Storm a 2-0 edge in the contest, earning a win at No. 4 6-2 and 6-1. Gonzalez was next to turn in a score for SE and put the blue and gold ahead 3-0 from the No. 6 spot. Mora and Voloshyn helped secure the match win, as they defeated their opponents at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
Southeastern (5-0) continues its run of home matches with a meeting with Central Oklahoma on Friday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. from the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
