SE Track and Field Picked Fourth in GAC Poll

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women's track and field will enter the 2025 outdoor season picked to finish fourth according to the Great American Conference Preseason Poll released on Thursday.
 
The Savage Storm earned 55 points in the poll to finish fourth, edging out Southern Arkansas who was picked fifth with 53 points.
 
SE was just behind Ouachita Baptist who picked up 61 points in third, while Oklahoma Baptist was picked to win the league with seven of the 10 first-place votes, while Harding was second with the other three outstanding first-place nod.
 
Northwestern Oklahoma State was picked sixth, 17 points behind SAU, followed by East Central, Southern Nazarene, Arkansas Tech, and Southwestern Oklahoma State.
 
The Storm are coming off a fifth-place finish in the 2024 GAC Outdoor Championships after scoring 82 points and finishing nearly 50 points ahead of sixth place.
 
Southeastern returns five athletes who scored in last season's championship meet, led by Madison Rowe who is the reigning 400 meter champion while also adding a sixth-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles.
 
SE's 2025 outdoor season is already underway with 19 marks already ranking among the top-10 of GAC opponents in the early going.
 
Southeastern will next be on the track March 22 at the Clyde Hart Invitational in Waco, Texas, while the Great American Conference Outdoor Championships are set for April 30-May 3 in Shawnee, Okla.
