Powell Sets School Record to Pace SE Weekend

NORMAN, Okla. – Ja'Marriah Powell logged a new school record in the 100 meters to pace Southeastern track and field which picked up 14 top-10 finishes on Friday at the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, Okla.
 
Powell finally got her school record mark in the 100 meters after passing the record twice previously on wind-aided time, she posted a 12.12 on her Friday run in Norman with an acceptable wind, setting the record and finishing fifth.
 
Mia Stewart checked in eighth in the event with a mark of 12.25.
 
Powell stayed busy as she was part of Southeastern's third-place finish in the 4x100 mater relay, partnering with Stewart, Kaydence Strong, and Camaella Achuo to post a 46.94 which is the second-best time in school history.
 
Calibre Keene clocked a season-best time of 11:58.77 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, finishing second in the event while Genevi Martinez followed in fifth with a run of 13:25.32.
 
Kaitlyn Ervin turned in a third-place finish in the hammer throw as she tossed a season-best 51.07 meters which is the fourth-best throw in school history.
 
Ashlen Clem led a pair of top-10 finishes in the 1,500 meter run, posting a time of 4:53.73 to finish fourth while Anahi Machuca clocked a 5:03.45 to finish ninth.
 
Sequoya McAdoo posted a run of 1:08.35 in the 400 meter hurdles to finish sixth, while Uryaha Brown finished ninth in the 400 meter run with a time of 58.29 and Clem was ninth in the 800 meters at 2:22.94.
