DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball coach
Nicole Solum joins
Seth Dutton to talk about adjusting to a different fall in her second season, looking ahead to competing in the spring, and breaking-in a new venue in this week's SE Check-In presented by First Texoma National Bank.
Â
Solum is in her second season at the helm of the Southeastern volleyball program, looking to bounce back from a tough 2019 season while welcoming 10 new additions to the roster in 2020, one of the program's largest recruiting classes.
Â
That second season was waylaid by Covid-19, as was the fall slate of sports across much of the country in Division II, and she and her staff adjusted to a fall with no competitions as they prepared for a modified spring season that will feature 10 matches and a Great American Conference Championship Tournament.
Â
In addition to adjusting to the modified 2020-21 season, the Savage Storm program was also adjusting to a renovation of its home court as Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium got a volleyball specific facelift and revamp to go along with the addition of the Sports Performance Center.
Â
The spring slate of matches are currently slated to begin Jan. 26 with a trip to Shawnee, Okla., to face Oklahoma Baptist before the first contest in the new venue on Feb. 2 against Southern Nazarene.
