As Destiny Brown closed out her two-sport playing career at Stillwater High School, she was a known entity to every basketball coach in the state of Oklahoma.
Â
After starting her collegiate career at Texas-San Antonio, Brown would return to the state of Oklahoma and settle in at Southeastern where she was once again able to ply her skills in both basketball and volleyball.
Â
The Stillwater, Okla. native, is one of three two-sport standouts in the 2021 class after making her mark in both volleyball and basketball from 2007 through 2010.
Â
She was an All-South Central region selection in basketball, earning all-Lone Star Conference-North Division honors three times and LSC-N Newcomer of the Year in 2008. She also added two academic All-LSC-N selections and is second on Southeastern’s all-time rebounds list and eighth in career scoring.
Â
On the volleyball court she was a two-time All-Lone Star Conference and academic Lone Star Conference selection and ranks fifth all-time in career kills.
Â
When the dust settled on her pair of playing careers she had certainly made her mark, as few athletes get to write their name multiple times in a record book, and an even smaller number will ever do that in more than one sport.
Â
In volleyball, Brown ranks fifth all time in career kills with 988 and is ninth in kills per set. She also has four other career top-15 marks, while also holding three top-10 single-season marks.
Â
In basketball, she is eighth in career scoring with 1,167 points, second in career rebounds with 886 boards, and has the second-best rebounding single season in school history, tying fellow Hall of Famer Crystal Robinson.
